With great joy, the University of Notre Dame's Board of Trustees announces the events celebrating the inauguration of Rev. Robert A. Dowd, C.S.C., as the University’s 18th president.

4:00 –7:00 p.m. | Celebratory Inauguration Picnic with Father Dowd
Library Lawn
The entire campus community is invited to kick off the inauguration festivities with a celebratory picnic. All Notre Dame students, faculty, staff and their families are invited. The evening will feature food trucks, lawn games, and live entertainment, including a special performance by The High Kings.

Time TBD | Notre Dame Forum: Special Inauguration Symposium
Leighton Concert Hall, DeBartolo Performing Arts Center
Since its establishment in 2005, each year the Notre Dame Forum invites dialogue about an issue of importance to the University, the nation and the larger world. The 2024-25 Notre Dame Forum focuses on the theme, "What do we owe each other?" The inaugural Forum symposium will feature a series of special “fireside chats” with international leaders in global development, philanthropy and the future of technology. The list of speakers will be announced soon.

Habitat for Humanity Build
Notre Dame Campus and South Bend Community
The University of Notre Dame will partner with Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County to break ground on five new homes in South Bend as part of events surrounding the inauguration. All faculty, staff, and students are invited to assist with the project, which will include projects on campus and on Harrison Street in South Bend. More information to follow.
