Beth Swift serves as Director in the President's Office. In this role Ms. Swift serves as principal advisor to the Chief of Staff in developing and implementing a wide variety of strategic projects for the President's Office, and provides essential leadership with regard to the operations of and communication with the Board of Trustees. Additionally, Ms. Swift provides critical support to the President's Leadership Council, leads the planning teams for University-wide events hosted by the President's Office, and manages communication for the Office.
Ms. Swift holds a master of business administration degree from DePaul University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Northern Illinois University. She began her career in Chicago, working at a number of financial institutions including Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith, Inc., Stein Roe and Farnham, Inc., and J.M. Lafferty Associates, Inc. Ms. Swift joined Notre Dame’s Office of Budget and Financial Planning in 1999 as Senior Financial Analyst. In 2005, she helped create the Office of Treasury Services, and as the Capital Planning Program Manager, she oversaw the University’s Capital Plan, led Notre Dame’s bond issuance transactions, and established the tax-exempt bond compliance program. She later became the Real Estate and Debt Program Manager, assuming responsibility for various real estate matters. Ms. Swift and her husband, Rich, have two sons, Michael and Patrick, both are current students at Indiana University.
