University of Notre Dame

As we reflect in this Advent season on the Christmas story of Jesus’ birth in a manger far from his family’s home, we remember in prayer immigrants and their families. And as we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Monday (Dec. 12), the bishops of the United States have called us to a day of prayer for immigrants and refugees. I invite each member of the Notre Dame community and the public at large to pray for immigrants, refugees and their families in our nation and throughout the world and, if you are able, to join us at the 5:15 p.m. Mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart.

Notre Dame throughout its history has served immigrants to our nation, and we are proud to continue to do so. Let us pray in a special way for the immigrants and their families who are part of the Notre Dame family.
