Latin American Reunion

Latin American Reunion 2008

Message from Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C.

In June 2008, nearly three hundred Notre Dame alumni, parents and friends gathered in Panama, Panama for the inaugural University of Notre Dame Latin American Reunion. This event marked the first Notre Dame reunion celebration outside the United States, and it is with great enthusiasm that I congratulate all involved on an extremely successful event! On behalf of the Officers of the University and the Notre Dame Alumni Association, I would like to thank those participants that met with us. I would also like to extend a heartfelt message to those in the Latin American community that could not join us for the reunion events. While your presence was missed, you were certainly in our thoughts and prayers.

For three days, we gathered in prayer, celebrated cherished memories of our times at Notre Dame, and engaged in thoughtful dialogue with University faculty and administrators. I am truly delighted with the results of the reunion and will cherish the wonderful memories made with so many of our University’s committed alumni. I would especially like to thank the ND Club of Panama for their gracious hospitality and sharing of their cultural traditions. The reunion is another reminder of Notre Dame’s growing international presence and community.

I encourage you to view the photos, videos and messages on this site. It is an excellent reflection of the wonderful event celebrated this year!

In Notre Dame,
Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C.
